to dashboard.
Install the extension.
Install from the VS Code Marketplace. For Cursor or manual installation, download the Windows extension, open the command palette with Ctrl + Shift + P, and run Extensions: Install from VSIX…. Choose the downloaded file. Local usage is free; hosted sync is optional at US$9.99/year.
Sign in to your providers.
Use any one or more of Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, Gemini, or Antigravity. Install only the tools you use and sign in normally. For Gemini quotas, sign in with Google in Gemini CLI. For Antigravity quotas, install its current agy CLI and sign in. Absent tools stay hidden; installed tools needing sign-in show guidance. Provider subscriptions are separate from AI Usage.
Connect your computer.
Open your online dashboard, subscribe, and generate a pairing code using a computer name. In VS Code or Cursor, run AI Usage Cloud: Connect Computer and paste the code within 10 minutes.
Open the editor tab.
Choose Open Dashboard in the welcome message, click AI Usage Cloud in the status bar, or use the extension page gear menu → AI Usage Cloud: Open Dashboard Tab. The local collector starts after you open it and continues as a Windows task while you’re signed in. Your online dashboard receives usage summaries after each successful check. The local dashboard also shows its browser URL, with Copy URL and Open in browser actions at the top.
Make it fit your day.
Use AI Usage Cloud: Configure Schedule to set timezone and active hours. The default is every 30 minutes, 5 a.m.–midnight in your Windows timezone.
Stopping or removing it
Run AI Usage Cloud: Stop Background Collector before uninstalling to remove its Windows task. Use Disconnect Computer to remove the local sync credential, and remove the device in your online dashboard to revoke access. Local history remains on your computer.
When a reading is missing
Open the affected provider extension and confirm you are signed in. Check its own usage page. AI Usage preserves the most recent successful reading and shows when it was collected. Some plans expose different limits, and provider interfaces can change.
